Christian Distinctiveness
Archbishop Sumner is a Church of England Primary School serving the community of Kennington.
Love always protects, always trusts, always perseveres, always hopes. 1 Corinthians 13:7
As a Church School, the governors and staff aim to weave Christian distinctiveness into all aspects of the fabric of school life. Working together as a community and inspired by a living Christian faith, we commit to understand, encourage, inspire and equip. We believe our school is a place where all are valued as individuals and as God’s children and that the whole child matters before God.
We aim to serve our community by providing a first-class education within a Christian context. Through Christian values such as hope, love, integrity and respect, our children thrive in a rich an vibrant community.
What does it mean to to thrive?
“I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God.” Psalm 52:8
When trees thrive, they have healthy, vibrant leaves, produce fruit and grow. They can withstand drought and flood. Their strong roots keep them upright during storms. Thriving starts with love. When we thrive, we achieve our best academically, we grow in character and resilience and we face the future with hope.
