Computing

At ABS, we believe that computing is an essential part of every child’s education. It equips children to think logically, solve problems and use technology creatively and safely.

Our bespoke computing curriculum has been carefully designed to complement learning across all subjects - supporting skills in maths, literacy, science and beyond. Children do not just learn how to use computers; we encourage them to explore how technology works and how to use it to create, understand and express ideas in many different ways.

We value computer literacy as a core skill for the modern world. This is why we provide a dedicated computing teacher for every class, ensuring high-quality, consistent teaching throughout the school.

By the end of primary school, children at ABS  will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of how computers and digital systems work.

  • Write their own simple code and design computer programs, such as games, animations or interactive stories.

  • Use logical thinking to solve problems and improve their work.

  • Use technology to create, research and communicate ideas in smart and useful ways.

  • Be a safe, respectful and responsible user of the internet and digital devices.
