Our School Vision
Love always protects, always trusts, always perseveres, always hopes.
1 Corinthians 13:7
Working together as a community and inspired by a living Christian faith, we commit to understand, encourage, inspire and equip.
- Understand and care for each child and their needs
- Encourage each other to become the best we can possibly be
- Inspire each child with a joy of learning and discovery
- Equip each child with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to face the future with hope
Values
Through Christian values, such as love, hope, integrity and respect, our children thrive in an inclusive, rich and vibrant community.
What does it mean to thrive?
“I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God.” Psalm 52:8
When trees thrive, they have healthy, vibrant leaves, produce fruit and grow. They can withstand drought and flood. Their strong roots keep them upright during storms. Like a well rooted tree, when we thrive, we achieve our best, grow in wisdom, character, resilience and faith, and face the future with confidence. We are able to thrive when we are nurtured in love, supported by a strong community and equipped to meet our lives’ challenges. We know we are thriving when, in response to the four elements of our school vision, we can say:
I am known
I have hope
I am motivated
I am ready
Ethos
The ethos of a school is its core beliefs, attitudes, values and culture. Our ethos grows from our living Christian faith:
- We ensure a happy, safe environment where every child feels secure, ready to learn and able to be themselves
- We are dedicated to the highest possible standards of teaching and attainment, and to delivering a creative, inspiring, broad curriculum that reflects the children who learn here
- Inclusion is central to all we do. We respect and celebrate diversity and create a community where everyone is known, understood and valued
- We believe in the power of relationships and that children learn best when they are supported by the whole community. We work together as a community of pupils, staff, parents, carers, governors, clergy and parishioners, encouraging each other and recognising that we all contribute to achieving the best for each child
- We treat each other with kindness, respect, compassion and care
- We operate a culture of praise and recognition for both children and adults, where everyone’s contributions, progress and achievements are celebrated
- We recognise that children need more than academic knowledge. We help them to explore interests and passions and inspire them with the joy of discovery.
- We prioritise children’s wellbeing and equip them resilience, confidence and strong values drawn from the Christian faith, that they will carry with them for life
- We acknowledge that we all learn from mistakes and are wedded to a culture of honesty, reconciliation and forgiveness
- We believe that we have a duty to care for the environment in our neighbourhood and the world.
