Thrive
Through Christian values, such as love, hope, integrity and respect, children at Archbishop Sumner thrive in an inclusive, rich and vibrant community.
What does it mean to thrive?
“I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God.” Psalm 52:8
When trees thrive, they have healthy, vibrant leaves, produce fruit and grow. They can withstand drought and flood. Their strong roots keep them upright during storms. Thriving starts with love. When we thrive, we achieve our best academically, we grow in character and resilience and we face the future with hope.
We use a THRIVE acronym to help every child to live life in all its fullness. Children understand what they need to do to earn each letter of the word and when they have achieved this, they receive a gold THRIVE badge. Earning a THRIVE badge takes hard work and determination and everyone can achieve one. These are worn with pride and celebrated each Friday in Thrive Collective Worship.
