Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to Archbishop Sumner Church of England Primary School. We are a creative and diverse school in the heart of Kennington, where children are equipped with skills and knowledge to thrive in all they do.

Through Christian values, such as love, hope, integrity and respect, our children thrive in an inclusive, rich and vibrant community.

What does it mean to thrive?

When trees thrive, they have healthy, vibrant leaves, produce fruit and grow. They can withstand drought and flood. Their strong roots keep them upright during storms. Thriving starts with love. When we thrive, we achieve our best academically, we grow in character and resilience and we face the future with hope.

We ensure that every child is given the opportunity to be the very best that they can be. We value the creative arts, employing specialist music ,art and sports teachers. Our curriculum ensures that children thrive spiritually, socially, morally and academically.  At Archbishop Sumner Church of England Primary School we offer children the opportunity to develop leadership skills and become agents of change through pupil-led groups such as our school council, wellbeing ambassador team, eco team and faith leaders.

If you would like to visit us, we would be very pleased to welcome you to ABS.
