Art at Archbishop Sumner CofE Primary School
At Archbishop Sumner CofE Primary School, we deeply value art and creativity as integral parts of our curriculum. Learning through and about art enriches our children’s experiences at ABS, equipping them with skills and perspectives that prepare them for life beyond our school.
We believe that art encourages self-expression and nurtures creativity, helping to build confidence and a strong sense of individual identity. Being creative supports emotional wellbeing by providing a healthy outlet for emotions, stress and anxieties.
Studying art fosters critical thinking and the ability to interpret and engage with the world around us. It also nurtures a sense of the spiritual, connecting us to something greater than ourselves.
Every child at ABS enjoys Art and Design Technology (DT) lessons in our art studio, where they can explore and express their creativity in a supportive and inspiring environment.
